Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty, collectively known as COTTWEILER, are concept-led designers who respond instinctively to their social environment. Forward-thinking design and manufacturing is combined with an aspirational quality to form a relevant menswear label.
COTTWEILER’s contemporary, sport aesthetic is largely informed by their upbringing as fans of sportswear. Merino wools, premium technical fabrics, geometric cuts and futuristic greyscale palettes are design signatures. Retailers order the non-branded Nylon shell suits, peaked caps, zip up track jackets and jagged trainers in bulk.
In addition to producing seasonal collections stocked worldwide, COTTWEILER produce films and installations, which have been showcased at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and Alison Jacques Gallery in London, and the Haus Der Kunst in Munich. The label received the 2016/17 menswear International Woolmark Prize, and in 2017, they produced a shoe line for Reebok to critical acclaim.
Cottweiler have a slew of influencer supporters, who admire them for their authenticity. Having designed FKA Twigs’ tour wardrobe back in 2014, celebrities such as Skepta, Yung Lean and Jamie XX are also getting behind the brand. The label has been featured in multiple art and fashion publications such as Vogue Italia, Dazed & Confused, New York Times, The Guardian and i-D magazine.
The label is currently stocked in prestigious retailers worldwide, including but not limited to, Harvey Nichols, Opening Ceremony, Dover Street Market, Ssense, KM20 and Barney’s.
